The 11th Annual Jazz and Blues Festival will take place on September 2nd from 1-8 PM. It’s a free, family friendly event showcasing jazz and blues artists throughout the day.  Head on over to the Waterfront Lake Anne Plaza in Reston, VA on Saturday to enjoy a some wonderful music to end an even more wonderful summer.

National Book Festival

Head on over to the convention center on Saturday, September 2nd for the National Book Festival. Join over 100 award-winning authors, poets, and illustrators who will be there to sign and discuss their books. Grab some new titles to take you into Fall, meet your favorite authors, or just enjoy a beautiful Saturday in the Capitol.

Labor Day Concert at the U.S. Capitol

Vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Aoife O’Donovan, will join the National Symphony Orchestra along with guest conductor, John Morris Russell, for a free 2017 Labor Day concert on the West Lawn of the Capitol Building. Gates will open at 3, with the performance scheduled to begin at 8. An annual tradition and a great way to end the holiday weekend.

If you haven’t already seen it, Labor Day will be the last day for you to check out Hive. Hive is The National Building Museum and Studio’s latest Summer Block Party Installation. The installation weaves more than 2,700 paper tubes to create a jaw dropping chamber that can be experienced from the museums floor or balcony.
