Farm fresh, local, sustainable, and all with a classic elegance. That’s Clyde’s at Mark Center. Whether you’re looking for seafood, steak, or a burger, Clyde’s at Mark Center has it all, not to mention their bar menu that can’t be beat! We caught up with David Lee, the executive chef of Clyde’s at Mark Center, to find out more about what makes Clyde’s at Mark Center so special.

Can you tell us a little bit about the history of Clyde’s at Mark Center?

Clyde’s at Mark Center opened in May of 1998. Clyde’s Restaurant Group has 8 Clyde’s restaurants in D.C., MD, and Northern VA. We also have the historic Old Ebbitt Grill, 1789 Restaurant, The Tombs, The Hamilton (a restaurant and live music venue in downtown D.C.), and The Soundry (our soon-to-open music venue in Columbia).

Clyde’s at Mark Center celebrates sporting life on the water, and I love how each of the five dining rooms has its own distinct feel.

My favorite part about working at Clyde’s is definitely the staff. Restaurant life is fast paced; you become family. We have a great team here that works hard and laughs a lot.

What is your favorite dish at Clyde’s? Which dish is the most popular with your guests?

My favorite dish is our Spicy Fried Chicken appetizer, and one of our best sellers is probably our new Cedar River Farms® Steak Frites. It is impossible to answer this question without mentioning our Bell & Evans Buffalo-style Chicken Wings and our legendary burgers!

Clyde’s has a great selection of cocktails. Which do you recommend?

I’m a straight whiskey guy myself, but I will enjoy our Irish Old Fashioned from time to time. It’s a great take on the classic.
